Pink Isn’t Only for Wednesday…

Of course, on Wednesdays we wear pink. Anybody who has seen Mean Girls knows that… but maybe it isn’t only for Wednesdays now! Looking at the recent fashion shows and the makeup the models wore and reading many articles, pink seems to be the go-to color at the moment. Different shades of pink, red, and nude colors are SO in right now!

I was just checking out some of the new Spring 2015 Couture from shows from designers such as Chanel and Christian Dior when I noticed a trend in the makeup. Chanel models wore a deep pinkish/red lip color while the models for Dior wore a more simplistic nude color.

Since spring is quickly approaching, I figured I would show you a make up look from both the Chanel show and the Dior show and give you some similar lip products to try!

Here is one of the looks from the Chanel 2015 show. The model has a quite simplistic look for the face, but a statement lip to complete the look. To get a similar look you don’t necessarily have to use the same color. Any statement lip will complete a look with minimal face makeup. The color the model has on is more on the red side, but if you prefer you could also try a deeper pink or even a brighter pink. Any of those colors are sure to make your lips the focal point of your look.

Examples of these colors could be the Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick in almost any shade or a lipstick from NARS in shades such as Funny Face or Gipsy.

Christian Dior

This is the makeup look from the Christian Dior Spring 2015 Show. Unlike the Chanel show, the beauty look in the Dior show were a more simplistic and natural look. If you don’t feel comfortable sporting a bright lip, you can never go wrong with a more natural look. A nude lip is also a very good choice when you are making your eye-area the focal point of your face. You can either wear a clear gloss, a skin tone shade of lipstick, or even a light pink lipstick or lip tint.

Some examples of these colors are the Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick in the shade Walk of Shame or the Dior Addict Lipglow in the shade Pink.
